This year marks a huge “grown up” milestone in my life. I’m spending my first holiday without my family. I mean, not that I don’t want to grow up and be an adult and do things on my own and stuff, but Thanksgiving with no family? It just seems a little wrong. I have been fortunate in the past to be close enough to both work and home that I can take time out to enjoy the holiday properly (turkey and wine hangover with my older sis) and bounce back to work the next day or so.
Well, things have changed and it is now time to put on my grown up pants and find another wino to indulge my drunken rants on why Lady Gaga is getting another Thanksgiving special on ABC. I mean, love her, but really?
One good thing about LA? People say it’s hard to make friends in this city, but I was fortunate enough to already have a mini-support system built in and meet a couple amazing new friends as well! One of them will be joining me this Thursday and teaching me a thing or two in the kitchen!
So gobble gobble everyone. I hope your holiday is filled with many joys and wonderments.

Due to not so amazing circumstances, I have an unexpected 4 day trip that incorporates both plane rides and road trips and I knew exactly who to turn to. Above, Mr. Porter’s “The Way I…” series explains how to travel like a gentleman in style.
Essentials? A suit, some comfy cashmere sweaters, and denim. ALWAYS denim. Also, a not so subtle nod to the old dog days of college.
BIG TIP: It’s all about the “clothes roll.” Goodbye wrinkles, hello extra carry-on space!
If you follow J. Crew at all, then you know some very exciting news has been buzzing around earlier today. J. Crew opened their doors to 3 stores in London: Regent Street, Brompton Cross, and 38 Lamb’s (a very cool, very exclusive Men’s Shop).
Enjoy the video above and have fun day dreaming over the images below.
